Care & servicing

A good watch asks very little. Here is what owning one involves.

Servicing

Every four to five years is the usual advice, but the honest answer is when it needs it. Signs it is due: losing more than ten seconds a day, a crown that feels gritty, or condensation under the crystal. A full service is handled on our own bench with standard parts, and comes with a written report.

Daily care

Wipe the case with a soft cloth. Avoid magnets and hot water. Wind an automatic fully once a day, off the wrist, if you have not worn it. The calfskin strap darkens with wear — that is character, not damage — and is easy to replace when you want a fresh look.

Water

Rated for rain and handwashing, not swimming or diving. Keep the crown pushed in, and have the seals checked at each service.
